Buy half umbrella stand
The most recommended base is a half patio umbrella stand or base (semi-circular or moon-shaded, or half rectangular) as it will also stand flush against the wall.
Depending on the umbrella size, ensure you get the correct weight. We recommend a base that is at least five pounds per foot of the umbrella size. For instance, if you have a 10 ft half umbrella, go for a base of at least 50 pounds to prevent toppling.
WARNING: If you are half patio umbrella with a stand, ensure it is the right weight. Most vendors recommend small bases that may not hold the umbrella up even in a slight breeze.

Also, factors such as fabric weight or thickness may influence the level of protection they offer.
3.Size
Look at the area you want shaded and ensure it fits. Ensure you measure the space before buying any umbrella. For small balconies and spaces, something such as the half-round market patio umbrella will work well while going for an 11ft if they are large.
